knok is a Portuguese digital health company making it easier for patients and healthcare professionals to connect. Its technology lets people book and attend remote consultations, manage their care and access a network of hundreds of professionals, bringing healthcare beyond the walls of a clinic. knok supports hundreds of thousands of patients and has delivered more than 1.9 million consultations through its technology. The knokcare app puts that experience in patients’ pockets. They can find healthcare professionals, book and pay for appointments, join video consultations and keep track of their clinical history in one place. They can also manage appointments for family members and dependants, making it easier to look after the whole household.
OUR CONTRIBUTION
CRON built knok’s new mobile experience for iOS and Android, connecting the app to its existing technology
infrastructure.
We developed the journeys for booking and managing appointments, with doctor search, real-time availability
and payments built in. PIN and biometric authentication, push notifications and device calendar integration
help make everyday healthcare tasks feel straightforward on mobile.
Video consultations were one of the project’s most demanding parts. Working with Vonage/OpenTok, we went
beyond a standard SDK integration and developed specific adaptations to address stability issues on both iOS
and Android, delivering the reliability a healthcare app needs.
