TAKING SPORTS MEDICALS PAPERLESS
Quercia Saúde provides healthcare services to individuals and businesses, with a strong focus on occupational and sports medicine. Its sports medicine services support amateur and professional athletes through medical assessments, fitness-to-play examinations and screenings that establish whether they are fit to take part in sport. Quercia EMD turns the sports medical examination, traditionally handled through the IPDJ paper form, into a digital workflow. Nurses, athletes and doctors use one platform to move through each stage: booking, completing a health history in advance, checking in, carrying out the clinical assessment, recording the medical decision and issuing the final certificate.
OUR CONTRIBUTION
CRON developed the Quercia Saúde platform that digitises the sports medical examination from start to finish.
For athletes, we created a mobile-friendly check-in experience accessed through a private link or QR code. There’s no app to install and no account to create. Before the appointment, athletes confirm their details, complete their medical history, provide consent and digitally sign the form.
For the clinical team, we built separate workflows for nurses and doctors. Nurses can manage bookings, track form completion, process athletes and complete or validate check-in. Doctors then see athletes in a dedicated queue and carry out every part of the examination digitally, with the relevant health information already at hand.
Once the assessment is complete, the platform automatically generates the certificate with the clinical decision, the doctor’s professional identification stamp and signature. It then sends the appropriate versions to the doctor, the athlete and, where relevant, their club.
All of this was achieved in record time, from our first meeting to the final delivery – the project was built in one month and has been live since then.
