MYSLICE
PIZZA AUTOMATION FOR A NEW GENERATION OF FRANCHISEES
MySlice was born at Offline Studio (formerly Alpha Studio), a US venture studio, with a simple idea: delicious pizza, made to each person's taste. To make that viable as a franchise, the concept combines automation, hardware, financing and marketing in an operation with less labour, less training and a small footprint, lowering the barrier to entry and opening the business to a new generation of entrepreneurs.
OUR CONTRIBUTION
CRON STUDIO partnered with WeADD, a Portuguese product design and engineering firm, to turn Offline Studio's findings and prototype into a new machine concept that could support conversations with manufacturers and the build of the next prototype.
We managed the project and, in about five weeks, went from benchmarking and feature identification to a selected concept and 3D CAD, with weekly presentation and validation cycles with the Offline Studio team.
The machine was designed to automate the most complex preparation steps, keeping the process hidden from the customer while the operator stays face to face with them. Together with WeADD, we developed a stackable stainless steel tray, a motorised system for storing and moving trays, and an automatic side exit to a conveyor oven, with front access for refills and maintenance. The concept also includes a version that makes three pizzas at a time.
